Liberation of Apeldoorn and the surrounding area

The day Apeldoorn was liberated in 1945 took place on April 17. On this day, our band participates in the commemoration at 't Sluisje in the morning and the commemoration of the liberation of the villages of Beekbergen, Lieren, and Oosterhuizen in the evening.

But other places in the vicinity of Apeldoorn were liberated earlier:

· Zutphen (Het Leesten), where our band contributed with our music to the commemoration of the liberation on April 8, 1945, on March 31.

· In Gendt, our band gave several performances on Saturday, April 4, during the Betuwe Liberation Festival, including participation in the parade.

· On Saturday, April 11, the commemoration of Operation Cannonshot took place in Wilp; the band also had the opportunity to give several performances here.

· On Sunday, April 12, our annual commemoration took place at the Canadian War Cemetery on the Holterberg, where all fallen Canadian soldiers, and in particular the soldiers of the 48th Highlanders of Canada Regiment, were remembered.

A number of performances will take place in the coming weeks, among others.

· May 3 in Zaltbommel “Tour de Waal”
